1536 North 115th Street, Suite 210
Seattle, WA 98133

This exercise and education program is available to Northwest Hospital Bariatric Surgery Program patients before and/or after weight loss surgery and is located in the McMurray Medical Building on the Northwest Hospital & Medical Center main campus. These medically supervised classes take place for one hour, three days each week. Classes are staffed by caring and compassionate registered nurses and exercise physiologists. Small class sizes allow for individualized attention in a fun and emotionally supportive group setting. The facility provides appropriate exercise equipment for weight loss surgery patients. Pre-operatively, the program helps patients meet their required 5% to 10% weight loss goal. Post-operatively, it encourages and guides patients to meet their required exercise regimen of 30 minutes per day, seven days a week or one hour per day, four to five times per week. A physician referral form is required to enter the program.

Services and Cost

The exercise physiologist consultation is a 60-minute interview appointment with a Master’s level exercise physiologist. The EP will review your past exercise history and make recommendations for current and future exercise. You will have the opportunity to ask exercise questions. A physician referral form is required to enter the program.

Exercise Program Intake - $50
This hour-long appointment is similar to the exercise physiologist consult, but geared specifically towards entrance into the Northwest Hospital Cardiac Fitness Center. It includes an introduction to exercise routines and equipment with measurement of baseline information including heart rate, blood pressure, rating of perceived exertion, and so on. A physician referral form is required to enter the program.

Exercise Program - $115/month
Hour-long exercise classes meet three times per week, with an additional 20-minute fitness education class one day each week. Classes include cardiovascular exercise, strength, flexibility and balance training. Participation in the program can last up to three months. Regular attendance is required for participant benefit and due to limited class availability. A physician referral form is required to enter the program.
